So, the recruitment and training of staff is our primary focus. Applicants must provide detailed references and their career background is always thoroughly checked and cross-referenced to ensure they are honest, trustworthy and reliable individuals.

Many successful candidates will have completed a nationally recognised training course for carers. Others will be in process of completing such a programme, or may have benefited from the bespoke training plan provided by Home Assist Health Care.

We look to recruit staff of the highest character: women and men who have a natural affinity with those who are elderly, alone or infirm. Typically they are friendly, capable people who know instinctively how to make others feel comfortable, and at ease.

We train them to anticipate our clients’ needs - rather than waiting to be asked for assistance. Carers learn that clients are often reluctant to request help; they may be in pain, confused or forgetful - so it’s important to see what needs to be done, then act discreetly and efficiently to put it right.
